Purple Gentleman historically arrived as leaf tobacco, in contrast to twist chewing tobacco or the bottom tobacco used in snuff. It is created by the Pinkerton Tobacco organization of Owensboro, Kentucky. In 1985, Pinkerton was obtained by a Swedish corporation, and just after even more corporate reshuffling, the model now falls under the umbrella
